AFNAN RASHID AL ZAYANI, a Bahraini national, Married with four children.
BS in food technology from Texas Tech University – USA. In 1977, she joined Bahrain Flour Mills
Company as a quality controller and research supervisor.
Presently, she is the owner and president of Al Zayani Commercial Services, S.P.C.
She is also a partner and Managing Director in Martinizing Laundry
and a board member of Al Ayam Publishing. Recently, she was elected
as Vice President of the Bahrain Bourse. Afnan engaged and worked
with various sectors of the community, including civil societies
and government agencies, to ensure the passing of the first written
personal status law which protects the rights of Bahraini families.
Selected as one of the 100 Most Powerful Arab Women 2011.
